EUCHARIA

A despairing and bewildered Eucharia Daniel attempts suicide. As she hovers between life and death in her Los Angeles bath tub, we follow her soul to a place called Desert Bardo - a liminal space between life on earth and ascension - and follow her search for the God she now wants to kill for what He did to her family. However, whilst on her Desert Bardo quest, Eucharia discovers profound and revelatory truths about the true nature of life on earth and the universe that challenges her hatred of God and irrevocably shatters her understanding of the meaning of existence and her place in the natural order. However her new found knowledge ultimately presents her with a life-altering - and after-life altering - choice with profound and dangerous ramifications.

Eucharia is Zina Saro-Wiwa’s first feature film and that will also live as an immersive video installation experience. An ongoing work, Eucharia is a biblio-galactic spiritual thriller and existential revenge fantasy. Inspired by biblical epics and Ancient Aliens, it’s an eco-galactic odyssey about suicide, deicide, the limitations of language; cosmic fruit and an inquiry into the truth of the relationship between God, the natural world and the Galaxy.

This ongoing film project has received very kind support from Lyn Lear and the Lear Family Foundation.
